Because of what happened this weekend (my friend’s dental office basically burned down), I’d like to talk about something I think is important.  I hope you’ll appreciate this quick, but powerful reminder today: Don’t wait for a “Wake-up Call” to focus on what matters most.  Do it now!  In other words, don’t wait for something bad to happen to get your attention.  Take the time to really figure out what matters to you and find a way to intentionally spend your time and energy on it.

I would submit to you that at some point in your life (or on your deathbed), you will realize that relationships are truly most important.  When people are near the end of their life looking back and reviewing things, the most common regret is, “I wish I’d spent more time with my family and loved ones.”

This is a work in progress for me.  I have always been driven to “succeed” in terms of competence in my career and much of the time felt financial pressure as well. So many of us believe that we’ll just get our business where we want it and then we’ll spend more time with our family, etc.  Then before we know it, our kids are grown…. That’s what happened to me.  I do have regrets about that, but hopefully most of us still have time to do things differently.

Hope you are living aligned with your values more and more!

Have an intentional week,
